The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Pilot Plant Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Assembling new types of fiber optic connectors using detailed work procedures
Testing the optical performance of new types of optical fiber connectors
Working with other technicians and optical engineers to efficiently make and test connector samples for experimental investigations.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, *** requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
High School diploma/GED
One (1) year of experience working in laboratory or pilot line setting
Able to pay attention to detail and follow detailed written work procedures.
Able to work with hands to assemble small parts.
Able to work on site daily from 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm initially transitioning to 3pm to 11pm as demand increases
Able to utilize Microsoft Excel for data input, formatting & analysis
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Experience working in an engineering or telecommunication laboratory.
Experience with handling and assembling fiber optic connectors.
Experience with automated fiber optic connector assembly equipment
Experience with optical testing of fiber optic connectors.
Experience cleaving optical fibers.
Work location: Austin, Tx
Travel: May include up to 5% domestic
