      Job Title: Power Plant Line Maintenance Lead - (2nd shift)

      Department: Power Plant Line Maintenance Building 3 (161)

      Reports To: Tim Hunter (Line Maintenance Manager)

      POSITION PURPOSE:

      Direct a crew of mechanics to perform day-to-day maintenance on various types of aircraft engines.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      1. Coordinate with the Supervisor for the scheduling and assignment of daily job tasks.
      1. Lead and direct subordinate crewmembers in the performance of job tasks.
      1. Ensure that all identified maintenance discrepancies are documented properly.
      1. Perform troubleshooting on various types of engines and assist in determining the proper course of maintenance action as needed.
      1. Make sure all crewmembers are using the proper documentation and MM references.
      1. Assist crew members with any maintenance tasks given.
      1. Assist the supervisor in identifying needed training.
      1. Assist the supervisor with identifying any safety-related issues that may come up.
      1. Provide OJT to both licensed and non-licensed crewmembers as needed.

      EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

      1. Must have a high school diploma or GED.
      1. A&P license is preferred, but a Power Plant license is required.
      1. Must have 5 years of experience working on and troubleshooting turbine engines.
      1. Must hold a valid driver's license.

      LANGUAGE SKILLS

      Ability to read, write, and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written directions to assigned staff.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

      The candidate must be able to work overtime, weekends, and go on road trips within reason.

      Strong troubleshooting skills pertinent to turbine engines.

      Must be willing to obtain a run and taxi certificate for all Kalitta Air aircraft types.

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS

      One must be able to routinely lift 50 plus pounds, climb ladders, bend, twist and climb under engines while in engine stands

      WORK ENVIRONMENT :

      Employee will perform duties in a (n): maintenance setting, hanger setting, outdoor setting, in various weather and temperatures, etc.
