Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Responsible for project deliverables in plastics and composites as detailed below:
1) Experience in development of raw material for interior and exterior polymer parts
2) Failure modes and root cause analysis of polymer parts using standard methodologies
3) Materials, part, and vehicle manufacturing process knowledge
4) Value analysis and value engineering
5) Product development knowledge
6) Ability to use tools like DFMEA and DVP to develop polymeric parts and test methods for materials as well as parts
7) Ability to select materials based on engineering requirements
8) Ability to use statistical tools for arriving at material specifications
9) Ability to use statistical tools for evaluating raw material suppliers and conducting audits
10) Ability to independently develop and lead new material technologies including lightweight materials
11) Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing technologies for structural applications.
12) Ability to leverage knowledge on polymeric part design to develop novel materials
13) Ability to interpret mold flow analysis reports and solve polymer processing issues and related failures
14) Ability to use CATIA
15) Exposure to ICME / MSC Digimat
16) BenchmarkingExperience
MTech with 5 years
Exposure to Selection of materials, Materials, part, and vehicle manufacturing processes, Material and component validation, Failure analysis, Advanced composite materials technology, Plastics specification, ICME - MSC Digimat / Materials Center / Granta MI
Industry Preferred
Qualifications
B. E. or B. Tech. in Polymer or Plastics Technology
