      Job Description

      Internship Dates

      • Start Date: June 1, 2026
      • End Date: August 7, 2026

      What You'll Do

      Over your 10-week paid internship, our Legal Intern will split time between the Office of the General Counsel, which provides corporate and regulatory support for the bank, and Legal/Loan Processing, which documents the bank’s loans. The intern will perform legal audits and signatory authority reviews, learn about loan and collateral documentation and assist with contract reviews. In addition, this intern will shadow attorneys on conference calls and participate in team meetings. They will learn about the board relations process and provide assistance as needed. At the end of the summer, the Legal intern will present a capstone project. A typical project might include conducting an in-depth analysis and legal research and preparing a memorandum, making a lasting impact on the Legal team.

      This is a paid position for a first-year law student working toward a degree in Law at the University of Colorado at Boulder or University of Denver.

      Interns work approximately 40-hours per week.

      • Master's Student: $25.85/hour
      • Summer Stipend: $3,500

      Education

      • Currently enrolled in and working toward a degree in Law University of Colorado at Boulder or University of Denver and in good academic standing

      Work Experience

      Other Qualifications

      • Interest in corporate, transactional, banking or finance law
      • A basic knowledge of cooperative principles and the desire to expand in this area
      • Proven administrative skills with a thorough knowledge of office practices and procedures
      • Ability to identify and process documents, both hard copy and electronically
      • Ability to respond to telephone or in-person inquiries and daily assignments
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
      • Aptitude for learning other software applications
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
      • Excellent written and verbal communication
      • Experience in agriculture, banking, or financial services industry
