Requisition ID req35067 Working Title Library Assistant Pay $14.00 Hourly Campus Los Alamos Department Los Alamos Branch Employment Type Student Employment Student Type Work-Study Status Non-Exempt Background Check Required Yes For Best Consideration Date 11/20/2025 Position Summary Shelves books and magazines using Library of Congress Classification system. Shelf reading duties. Provides basic circulation services including checking books in and out, maintaining confidential patron information on the WMS automated library system. Provides basic public services assistance. Provides patron assistance with reference resources including use of specialized online databases. Processes new library materials. Performs preliminary Interlibrary Loan tasks using OCLC online Connexion & WMS system. Uses OCLC online Connexion & WMS system for copy cataloging. Uses Microsoft Word, Excel and Access for basic library-related transactions and functions. Assists with collection maintenance (inventory, shifting, weeding) and special projects as assigned. Assists with intersession cleaning duties. Students possessing other specialized skills such as computer troubleshooting and maintenance may also be assigned tasks related to those skills.
