What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist with in-class workshops for group projects
- Grade group writing assignments, including workshop modules and final reports
- Support the grading of individual final essays
- Facilitate weekly reading quizzes that are self-grading
- Collaborate with faculty and students to enhance the learning experience
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduate student in good academic standing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Availability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
- Completion of Graduate Assistants Equity Workshops (for new TAs)
- Enrollment in ESL 370: International Teaching Assistant Training may be required for international students
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience in a higher education setting
- Familiarity with digital media and its impact on science communication
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
