- Provide services in both English and the required foreign language (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, Hmong, etc.).
- Applicants being considered for bilingual positions will be tested during the recruitment process prior to employment. This will primarily consist of passing an oral language proficiency assessment from English to foreign language and foreign language to English, but may require additional language testing, such as written translation, if it is an essential function of the job.
The Dane County Alliant Energy Center has six (6) vacancies for Limited Term Employee Parker position.
Limited Term employees are limited to 1,200 hours in a payroll year and are not guaranteed any hours per week.

DEFINITION
Under general direction, Parker supports general parking operations for events at the Alliant Energy Center (AEC),
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Parker facilitates ingress and egress of vehicle traffic during events. Communicates with guests both visually and verbally to control vehicle traffic flow. Monitors parking areas, including exterior parking lots and camping areas, to ensure proper parking guidelines are followed. Directs vehicle traffic to the appropriate lane and/or parking lot. Supports exhibitor load-in and load-out for shows on the loading dock, directing vehicle and pedestrian ingress and egress. Monitors ADA parking and ensures that guests have proper credentials. Gains familiarity with the layout of the facility and venue policies to be able to successfully and efficiently assist guests, as needed. Works outside in all weather conditions to direct traffic and provide a seamless parking experience for visitors to the Center.
Education, Training and Experience :
Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to High School graduation.
Certifications/Licenses:
On hire, incumbent must attend training and receive Crowd Control Manager Certification.
Special Requirements :
Must have a valid driver’s license, or access to reliable personal transportation, or equivalent. Must be available and willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed based on event requirements. Must be respectfully assertive and tactful with customers when necessary. Must familiarize themselves with facility emergency operation protocols. Also refer to the “Physical and Environmental Work Requirements” section below.

Physical and Environmental Work Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, or snow. Ability to see and hear within normal ranges with or without corrective devices. Ability to read and speak in a clear and easily understandable manner. Must be comfortable in a busy parking lot environment with a high volume of vehicles entering and leaving the facility at the same time.Must be assertive and able to communicate professionally with guests, in any situation. Develop a detailed knowledge of the layout of the grounds, parking lot patterns, entrances, and exits. Must be able to recognize and address unsafe situations, and make appropriate changes and adjustments. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate via radio and cell phone. Ability to drive a golf/utility cart as needed. Must be customer service oriented.About the company
