      Apparel Authenticator

      eBay is hiring a Apparel Authenticator for our team based in the New York/New jersey area. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping up to date with the Apparel industry trends, Apparel releases, and collaborations with all retailers, from street wear to high fashion. You will make sure the apparel is authenticated as well as spot manufacturer defects, assess wear, and inspect sku and size ensuring that each buyer receives the best experience possible. The right candidates will have experience detecting counterfeits and know the indicators to confirm an item’s authenticity. While a multi-brand background is preferred, brand specialists will be considered.

      Responsibilities:

      • Evaluate preloved and new products from major fashion brands to ensure their authenticity
      • Collaborating in creation of training guides for Apparel brands preferably Luxury/Designer
      • Perform proper inspections in confirming item’s description and condition are consistent
      • Report counterfeit items with succinct and specific findings
      • Stay well-versed on current brand trends & developments
      • Be comfortable in a fast-paced facility environment
      • Achieve quality metrics and productivity goals daily
      • Proactively communicate with managers about daily activities and obstacles
      • Willingness to work in a warehouse environment

      Requirements:

      • Experience in a related field required
      • You are a fashion expert and have a strong sense of the category along with a passion for Apparel
      • Analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to research and address concerns
      • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
      • Flexibility to evolving workflows and responsibilities
      • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
      • Ability to work autonomously
      • Capacity to work on your feet for several hours & lift 50 pounds as needed.
      • Knowledge of standard operating systems, word processing, spreadsheets, Slack, etc.
      • Must be over the age of 18 years old
