  Job Title: MachinistJob Description

  As a machinist, you will work on boring mills and lathes. Your role involves using your expertise in shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining methodologies to study drawings and specifications, determine dimensions and tolerances, and sequence machining operations.

  Responsibilities

  • Study drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of machining operations.
  • Verify conformance of details to specifications using measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Operate specific controllers and program parameters to load, evaluate, and run specific programs.
  • Manually program Heidenhein controllers and have knowledge of Fanuc controllers.
  • Input additions, deletions, and changes to machining programs as instructed by the CAM department.
  • Ensure that assigned functions can be completed on specific machines.
  • Engage in custom fabrication as part of your duties.

  Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience as a machinist working on mills and lathes.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using own tools, including micrometers up to 3”, Interapid indicator, dial indicator, and other specified tools.
  • Knowledge of GD&T is an asset.

  Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience preferred; flexibility for candidates with less experience.
  • Experience in custom fabrication is essential.

  Work Environment

  This role involves shift work with options for day shifts (Monday to Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) and afternoon shifts (Monday to Thursday 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM). The team collaboratively determines the rotation schedule, with a default of 2 weeks on days and 2 weeks on afternoons if no agreement is reached. The work is conducted in the Valco Facility on St. Luke Rd.

  This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Windsor, ON.

  Pay and Benefits

  The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
