      The Manager Banquets will oversee the management and execution of all catering & special events for Palms Casino Resort focusing on day-to-day oversight of banquet operations, financial performance, team member engagement and exceptional guest service.

      Core Job Responsibilities:

      • Create and foster a work environment focused on teamwork, open communication, recognition, fairness and employee satisfaction and retention.
      • Perform daily oversight of all banquet operations, including planning and execution of all catering events.
      • Work with other departments to ensure Catering & Special Events Department maintains all necessary county and city licenses and permits including health and fire code permits.
      • Conduct meetings with Banquet Setup, Kitchen and Production teams to ensure successful execution of all catering & special events.
      • Oversee the successful financial performance of the department by evaluating labor cost, cost of goods, inventory control and proper revenue recording.
      • Establish staffing guidelines for the department to ensure an exceptional customer service experience while maintaining proper labor costs.
      • Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and repair of all Convention and Special Event venues.
      • Manage, mentor, train and coach hourly team members.
      • Maintain a strong working relationship with vendors, clients and other departments.
      • Perform other job-related duties as requested.

      Qualifications:

      • Candidate must be at least 21 years of age.
      • Alcohol Awareness Card.
      • Food Handler’s Card.
      • Strong organizational skills and ability to function under time constraints.
      • Must have excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
      • Must have ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple projects within established timelines.
      • Must be able to present information in clear, concise terms.
      • Detail oriented and demonstrated problem solving skills.
      • Excellent customer services skills.
      • Professional appearance and demeanor.
      • Ability to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms.
      • Proficiency in the following systems and programs: Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.
      • Collaboration and problem-solving skills.

      Preferred:

      • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a minimum of five years of previous relevant experience.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
      • Working knowledge of Delphi or other similar catering sales system.
      • Working knowledge of Tripleseat preferred.
      • Food Handler’s Card and ServeSafe Certified or able to obtain during the probationary period.
      • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
      • Catering Software and/or CRM Software knowledge a plus.

      Physical Demands:

      • Must have good positive energy to make it through the day.
      • Must be observant and quick to respond to various situations.
      • Must be able to move quickly through work and set the pace in the office and/or venue.
      • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
      • Must be able to twist, tow (push or pull), reach, bend, climb and carry as necessary.
      • Must be able to push and lift up to 10 lbs.
      • Ability to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
      • Ability to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
      • Ability to talk, hear, taste, and smell to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
      • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
      • May be exposed to smoke.
      • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
