      As the Manager of Volunteers and Employee Services, you will direct all volunteer services and oversee 200 volunteers within Akron General, Lodi Hospital, and Green, Stow and Bath Health and Wellness Centers. You will be responsible for oversight over recruiting, training and placing volunteers in the various departments. Maintaining communication with all volunteers as well as the caregivers is essential in your day-to-day work . Using your strong interpersonal and people management skills, you will ensure that both volunteers and patients have a satisf ying experience at Cleveland Clinic.

      A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM.

      A caregiver who excels in this role will:

      • Manage the work activities of the Volunteer Department.

      • Recruit, interview, hire, orient and train volunteers.

      • Evaluate performance, provide feedback and make personnel action recommendations (e.g., disciplinary, discharge).

      • Create an environment conducive to a satisfying volunteer experience by facilitating conflict management and resolution as needed and serve as a problem-solving resource for volunteers.

      • Implement a program of patient satisfaction surveys to monitor activities of volunteers, including direct volunteer-patient contact.

      • Provide ongoing recognition of volunteers and volunteer groups via thank you card, birthday card program and illness follow up.

      • Write nomination of volunteers for various department awards as well as community, local and state awards and recognition.

      • Manage all volunteer programs.

      • Provide oversight and coordination of fundraising campaigns and events.

      • Work collaboratively with community to engage in special programs and services such as Eagle Scout projects and United Way Day of Action.

      • Maintain a record keeping system, computer data, sign-in sheets and data reporting forms to meet reporting requirements of funding sources with the help of the Assistant Coordinator of Volunteers and prepare monthly statistics, quarterly and annual reports of volunteer hours of service.

      • Provide updated information on changes in recruitment and training of volunteers and give updated information on changes in policy and procedure for the volunteer department to other branch offices in the organization.

      • Represent the Agency at functions as assigned, maintain membership in appropriate professional organization and serve on appropriate committees of these organizations.

      • Participate in information exchange and volunteer recruitment consultations with the Volunteer Center and provide information for various newsletters when requested .

      • Update policies and procedures for the volunteer department as needed, identify organizational and departmental needs and initiate solutions for improvement.

      • Evaluate outcomes of special events via meetings with staff and volunteers serving in chairperson roles.

      • Compile a monthly volunteer newsletter communicating the needs of the department and any updates on changing policies or/and procedures within the department.

      • Maintain competencies specific to the population served.

      • Complete mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirement .

      • Maintain applicable certification/licensure.

      Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare related field

      • Three years of experience as a manager in Healthcare or related discipline OR equivalent combination of experience and education

      • Additional years of experience may offset degree requirement

      • Interpersonal skills in relating to people and the ability to team build

      • Proven people management skills

      • Ability to handle multiple tasks

      • Strong communication , writing and public relation skills

      • Interest in and understanding of home health care and hospice services

      • Patience and the ability to teach people of varying education levels

      Preferred qualifications fo r the ideal future caregiver include:

      • Previous program management for Healthcare, Non-Profit, Social Services or Community Based organizations

      • Fundraising and event planning experience

      Physical Requirements:

      • Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC; normal or corrected vision, extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying from 5 to 15 pounds.

      Personal Protective Equipment:
