      Are you as excited as we are when we talk about analyzing market data for Stolt Tankers: the largest and most sophisticated fleet of chemical and parcel tankers, with over 160 tanker ships?

      We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starting Market Analyst. You will be responsible for analysis which are being used to strengthen our commercial strategy and future plans. You are the go-to person when we need systematic analysis of chemical industry trends; chemical demand and volume outlook, shipping ton-mile demand, general economic and political environment; legal and regulatory issues; customers; current and potential competitors. You will present your research on a regular basis to our commercial and leadership team.

      Stolt Tankers a division of Stolt-Nielsen Limited (SNL), is the specialist in transporting bulk liquids: Chemicals, clean petroleum, gases, vegetable oils, biofuels and oleochemicals. We are continuously seeking how we can add value for our customers.

      What you will be doing
      The main responsibilities of the role include identifying and collecting appropriate customer, competitor, market, economic, financial, and operational data and producing actionable research to guide commercial and strategic decision making. You will also be responsible for managing third-party research, developing in-house models, and performing strategic analysis to support the development of value propositions, business models and market strategies. The role will work cross-functionally across several departments.

      Key responsibilities

      • Creates and updates comprehensive industry, competitor and customer models including, but not limited to, market share, growth projections/trends, market forces.
      • Performs thorough, systematic analysis of chemical industry trends, chemical volume outlook, shipping ton-mile demand, general economic and geopolitical environment; legal and regulatory issues; customers; current and potential competitors.
      • Provides market and competitive insights through presentations and reports to the Leadership Team and various internal management teams to allow effective strategic and tactical decision-making and implementation.
      • Supplies the market and competitive intelligence component of strategic planning, and proactively makes recommendations to management concerning key intelligence items that require further consideration.
      • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of data sources, evaluating their credibility and potential utility, and leverages them across the company where appropriate.

      Qualifications

      • Master’s or bachelor’s degree.
      • 2-5 years prior oil, chemical, or analytics experience. Prior shipping/tanker market experience is a strong plus.
      • Previous experience undertaking business research and industry analysis and the identification of issues, opportunities, and solutions.
      • Experience developing value propositions and business models for new products and services.
      • Strong understanding of research methodologies/strategic analysis.
