      This internship role is scheduled to be flexible. Please be prepared to spend part of your time working remotely and part of your time working from the following location: 500 NE Multnomah St., Portland, OR, 97232.

      Department Details:

      The National Data, Insights, & Engagement Solutions (NDIES) team part of the Marketing Organization under the National Health Plan functions at Kaiser Permanente. NDIES is responsible for strategically collecting, analyzing, deriving insights, and executing campaigns & experiences on behalf of Marketing, National Health Plan, Markets, and Kaiser Permanente as a whole. NDIES is made up of National Market Research, Marketing Data & Analytics, and Competitor insights working together.
      This role is part of the National Market Research (NMR) department. NMR provides data, analytics, insights, and consulting expertise to teams related to sales, marketing, experience, and operations across the entire organization. NMR works closely with these teams to interpret data and build actionable insights for leadership to build and deliver improvements across Kaiser Permanente.
      NMR consists of other sub-teams which include Brand Marketing, Consumer/Customer Insights, Advanced Analytics, Regional Experts, and more.

      Internship Projects:

      The intern will be involved in cross-regional geo-demographic data integration, analysis, and strategic implementation projects. The intern-s work will support efforts to enable commercial growth, hospital and medical office building strategy, and cost structure improvements in each region.
      Projects & responsibilities:
      - Identifying specific health care need gaps that exist in relevant markets.
      - Collaborative strategic design with team members and relevant stakeholders.
      - Document of data and processes to ensure improvements can be reproduced.
      - Communicate status updates via email and virtual team meetings.

      Target Majors:

      Math/Statistics; Marketing; Public Health; Data Science; Sociology/Social Sciences

      Target Skillset:

      Working knowledge of data management programs (such as Microsoft Excel/ SQL/ Google Cloud) and ability to input/ review, and QA data.
      Novice or moderate knowledge of statistical software package (such as SPSS, SAS, or R) and ability to run descriptive statistics.
      Critical thinking skills that contribute to asking questions and responding to what data analysis reveals.
      Ability to collaborate and willingness to bring ideas to the table.
      Flexibility to work remotely and perform tasks on time.

      • Job shadowing in other functional areas.
      • Performing additional duties as required.
