- Assemble spacecraft hardware and follow it through environmental testing campaigns.
- Solder and inspect PCBs, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Build harnesses and wire connectors with precision.
- Install project-specific sensors such as thermistors and accelerometers.
- Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics to resolve hardware problems.
- Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot hardware issues.
- Support propulsion module and spacecraft testing.
- Operate torque wrenches and similar tools according to product specifications.
- Document processes while building electrical and mechanical assemblies.
- Proficiency in flight hardware, aerospace, and mechanical assembly.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and written instructions.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with precision measuring tools.
- Experience with soldering, crimping, and harness builds.
- Experience with electronics testing and board repair.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic process knowledge.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain IPC certifications for wire harnessing and soldering assemblies.
- Experience with CAD software, Visio, Excel, and CAD drawing.
- Experience with fabrication, testing, and non-conformance resolution.
- NASA certifications for soldering, crimping, and harnesses.
- Experience with harness fabrication and vacuum chambers.
- Good time-management skills.
Job Title: Mechanical TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking a full-time Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team. The role involves assembling spacecraft hardware, soldering and inspecting PCBs, building harnesses, and testing components and assemblies. The position requires a passion for space systems and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
ResponsibilitiesThe role is based in a cleanroom environment. Candidates must be capable of lifting 50 lbs and climbing a 13-foot ladder. The company offers a close-knit work culture with 120 employees and provides full benefits, including a 401k matching program and education reimbursement. Employees enjoy 2 to 3 weeks of PTO depending on experience, and the company shuts down from Christmas to New Year's.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Littleton, CO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
