      Medical Assistant Apprentice – Full-Time, Days

      Texas Health Physicians Group is starting its next Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program!

      Our ‘ Learn While You Earn’ program creates a pathway for employment directly into a healthcare career. After successful completion of the program, new Medical Assistants will take the National Exam to become a full-time CMA within Texas Health Physicians Group.

      Training location: 6300 West Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093

      Training duration: 11-week in class education program in Plano plus up to 5-6 weeks of continued hands-on education within a designated training clinic

      Possible work locations after training: Plano, Allen, Denton, Dallas, and surrounding cities

      Hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

      Start Date: April 20, 2026

      Medical Assistant Apprentice Highlights:

      • Earn as you learn w hile going through the CMA Apprentice Program

      • The Apprentice is hired as a full-time, benefit eligible employee of Texas Health Physician Group

      • At Texas Health Physicians Group, CMAs are critical members of the healthcare team that help form a positive clinical experience for patients and others.

      This program prepares CMA Apprentices to perform tasks such as:

      • Taking patient vital signs

      • Assisting providers with exams and procedures

      • Administering injections or medications

      • Performing EKG, phlebotomy, or laboratory procedures

      • Updating electronic medical records

      Here’s What You Need

      • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

      A successful Medical Assistant Apprentice will:

      • Possess organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment

      • Have positive interpersonal skills

      • Good verbal and written communication skills

      • Possess basic computer and keyboard skills

      • A commitment to professional development, growth, and learning

      • Customer service oriented

      What You Will Do

      • Basic patient care skills

      • Patient rights, communication, safety, observation, and reporting according to policy

      • Meet attendance requirements and attend class timely

      • Be prepared for class with necessary supplies

      • Complete assigned work on time

      • Learn to work as part of a healthcare team

      • Learn and perform Medical Assistant patient care duties and clinical skills

      • Prepare and sit for CCMA exam
