What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate from an approved Medical Assistant educational program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- For Medical Assistant 1: No previous experience required
- For Medical Assistant 2: Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Must be certified by a recognized medical assistant certification body or eligible for certification

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association
- HIV & AIDS Certification: Florida HIV/AIDS Healthcare Professional Continuing Education (CE) Certification
- Experience in a university-based or academic healthcare setting
