- Development and implementation of an integrated Medical Education strategy and associated budget to support IO&E organizational objectives. Monitor, manage and report on budget compliance.
- Oversight of medical education program development, execution, digital strategy, and resident/fellows’ strategy and rollout. Define resourcing plans, training/ development, and retention of team talent. Lead medical education initiatives across reporting groups, motivating individuals to achieve results.
- Identify and develop relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the industry, expert speakers, and well-known academicians who can deliver the defined curriculum, as well as provide technical and clinical insight with real-world applications. Work with team members to engage identified KOLs and HCPs to execute education strategy.
- Initiate, build, and maintain internal & external relationships at all levels to achieve divisional, department, and initiative goals. Participate and collaborate across the industry and within BSC to ensure executional excellence.
- Develop training approach, scope, and methodology to maximize impact. Lead the team in designing learning curricula and objectives by assessing and analyzing HCP requirements and training needs, aligning organizational objectives and initiatives, and obtaining/developing educational content through participation in cross-functional teams, physician and industry presentations, conventions, forums, and meetings.
- Lead the team in developing training and education tools needed to effectively meet learning objectives and support successful procedural skill transference (e.g. simulations, models, visualizations, gaming, etc.).
- Lead the team in conducting post-program evaluations of content and faculty, remaining aware of all changes that may impact training requirements, while incorporating program feedback to shape future programs, implementing changes/improvements to training protocols and materials accordingly.
- Manage the team to effectively execute activities of major significance to the organization and represent the organizational unit as prime internal and external contact on professional medical education.
- Identify needed metrics to evaluate team output and program impact and collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and report
- Identify areas of improvement and new opportunities to meet organizational goals. Make recommendations to senior management to improve performance and impact. Define and implement team processes/solutions to ensure executional excellence and efficiency.
- Ensure team and physician activities and programs are conducted in compliance with regulations and Boston Scientific and industry policies.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 10+ years of experience in medical device industry or related field
- 5+ years of managerial and leadership experience in coaching and developing employees to meet their full potential
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships with physician customers, field reps and cross-functional partners
- Candidate must be able to think strategically with appetite for innovation and continuous learning
- Advanced degree
- Specialization in adult learning, instructional design, and/or driving education strategy and programs for med device / pharma
- Proven project management and organization skills

About the role:
Responsible for developing an integrated Medical Education strategy and leading the Medical team in executing training programs for the IO&E division’s technologies and therapies to support product education and skills training for Health Care Professionals (HCPs). Identify and engage HCPs through collaborative partnerships to enhance educational initiatives, advance the appropriate application of therapies that provide life enhancing outcomes, and advise BSC on matters of strategic importance.
