      Job summary

      An exciting opportunity for a registered Mental Health Practitioner (e.g. Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist) to join the Day Support Programme (DSP) within the Eating Disorder Service.

      Our service provides support to people from across Hampshire with a diagnosis of eating disorder. DSP is based in April House in Southampton and works with up to 8 individuals daily Monday to Friday. It aims to support those who might otherwise require an admission or who need support following an admission to weight restore and take an active recovery in their eating disorder.

      You will provide recovery-focussed assessment, care planning, interventions and reviews to individuals on the programme. This will include one-to-one and group work, meal preparation, physical health monitoring, joining them to eat breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner (depending on the day) and to access rehabilitation activities in the community as part of their recovery journey.

      You will work within supportive team including a Dietician, Nutritionist, Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist and Health Care Support Workers in DSP. You will also be part of, and able to access support from, the wider Eating Disorder Service which includes Psychologists and Therapists.

      Main duties of the job

      The post holder will work flexibly across the Eating Disorder Service, substantially within the Day Support Programme (DSP) as part of a multi-disciplinary team using a recovery-focused and strength-based approach to care assessment, planning, intervention and review. demonstrating a high level of skill in planning, implementing and evaluating care. The post holder will support the delivery of therapeutic interventions either individually or within a group setting, provide meal support and outreach work in the community in order to achieve a high-quality service for patients with complex needs.
