Description
Skyline Mortgage is seeking a Licensed Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant to join our fast-growing team. This is a high-impact role for a motivated mortgage professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering an exceptional borrower experience from application to closing table.
You will work directly alongside our Loan Officers to manage active pipelines, support borrowers through the loan process, and ensure every file moves toward an on-time closing. If you're detail-oriented, client-focused, and passionate about homeownership - this role is for you.
Responsibilities
• Assist Loan Officers with taking loan applications and collecting required documentation.
• Support Loan Processors with in-process files to ensure timely and efficient closings.
• Evaluate loan applications and determine the creditworthiness of applicants.
• Collect and analyze financial information to assess the risk and feasibility of loan requests.
• Advise clients on loan options and assist them in selecting the most suitable loan product.
• Guide clients through the entire loan application process, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of loan products and cross-compare guidelines against borrowers' specific financial scenarios.
• Keep an organized and up-to-date log of loan applications and prospective borrowers.
• Stay current with industry regulations and changes in lending practices, including TILA and Fair Housing guidelines.
• Provide exceptional, white-glove customer service - addressing inquiries and resolving issues throughout the loan process.
• Follow up proactively with pre-approved and in-process clients, keeping all transaction parties informed with timely status updates.
Qualifications
• Active NMLS ID & MLO License.
• Strong knowledge of loan origination, underwriting, and loan processing procedures.
• Proficiency in using financial software systems, such as Arive or other POS and LOS systems.
• Excellent communication & follow-up skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions based on guidelines.
• Familiarity with financial and lending practices.
• Ability to build rapport with clients & agents.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple loan applications simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.About the company
