      Job Overview:

      The MTO Designer provides solutions to problems in the Material Takeoff discipline without supervisory approval and will evaluate and select solutions from established operating procedures and scientific procedures.

      Qualifications

      Essential Qualifications and Education:

      • High School Diploma with specialization in Design or Drafting or Engineering Degree in a related discipline
      • At least 3 years of experience in MTO design and material estimation within the EPCI industry
      • Proficiency in utilizing industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel for creating accurate material take-offs
      • Strong knowledge of the EPCI project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction, and installation processes
      • Excellent understanding of industry codes, standards, and specifications relevant to the EPCI sector
      • Well-versed in quantity calculation methods, including estimation, volume calculations, and conversion factors
      • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical skills to identify errors and inconsistencies in project documentation
      • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
      • Knowledge of ERP systems and their integration with MTO processes is a plus
      • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy

      Responsibilities

      Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

      • Develop detailed material take-off (MTO) reports and drawings for the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) projects within our organization
      • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to accurately estimate quantities of materials required for project execution
      • Generate comprehensive and precise MTO data sheets, ensuring adherence to project specifications, industry codes, and standards
      • Utilize specialized software and tools to perform quantity calculations, including AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
      • Conduct thorough reviews of project documentation such as drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to identify discrepancies, resolve conflicts, and ensure accuracy in material take-offs
      • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and validate relevant technical documentation, certifications, and material specifications
      • Assist in the identification and evaluation of alternate materials to optimize costs, improve project performance, and maintain compliance with project requirements
      • Continuously update and maintain accurate project databases and tracking systems for MTO data, ensuring efficient retrieval and sharing of information across project teams
      • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams during material selection, ensuring compatibility, functionality, and compliance with project specifications
      • Participate in design reviews and technical meetings, offering input to ensure the accuracy and completeness of project deliverables
      • Continuously evaluate and assess material consumption trends, proposing process improvements for enhanced efficiency and reduced waste
