The Workforce Development Department (WDD) is recruiting for an Office Assistant Public Service Employee (PSE)* who is responsible for providing general information to the public via phone or in person; answering questions regarding specific departmental procedures and practices; processing a variety of documents; maintaining files; scheduling appointments and meetings; preparing letters, reports, invoices, and other documents; and performing data entry.*PSE = Public Service Employee: PSE is an extra-help unclassified appointment. This is an extra-help, non-regular position classified as Public Service Employee. This temporary position will be employed for approximately 6-12 months and is a full-time (40 hours per week) position. Successful candidates shall be considered at-will throughout the term of their employment, and will not attain regular status. Applicant must successfully pass a background check prior to appointment.

Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must successfully pass a background check, which includes fingerprints and a medical exam.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Public Service Employee (PSE): Public Service Employees are considered at-will, temporary positions. PSEs do not gain regular status and assignments will not exceed 12 months.No experience required.Bilingual and customer service skills are highly desirable and should be noted on the application.
