      This is responsible work providing for the security of judges, employees, visitors, court building and grounds. The position is responsible for screening visitors, monitoring activity utilizing video surveillance equipment, patrolling building and grounds, managing emergency situations, assisting with training of security personnel, and performing related clerical tasks.


      SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
      Must have a valid State of Florida Driver’s License and an active Florida Law Enforcement Certification. No conviction of a felony or misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement. No dishonorable discharge from the Armed Forces of the United States. Must be at least 19 years of age, and a high school graduate, or its equivalent, and pass physical examination, drug screen and background check.


      EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
      High school diploma or GED.
      KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


      Knowledge of and ability to operate sophisticated computer operated security system for card key access, operate and monitor CCTV, and operate X-ray, metal detection, and fire safety equipment. Knowledge of facility subsystems and ability to detect failures and hazardous situations. Ability to use a firearm, incapacitate and handcuff safely and responsibly. Ability to dependably perform assignments without close supervision. Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with court visitors and court personnel. Ability to work harmoniously in a group setting. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
