- Provide a warm, professional welcome to patients and visitors.
- Manage patient queries both in person and over the telephone.
- Direct patients to appropriate services in line with practice protocols.
- Manage appointment bookings, cancellations and enquiries using the EMIS clinical system.
- Print, scan, code and file documents using Docman.
- Process online patient requests through Footfall and clinical triage systems.
- Handle repeat prescription requests in line with practice procedures.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate patient records.
- Support clinicians with administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Confidently use EMIS Web, Docman, Footfall, and online triage platforms as part of daily duties.
- Use Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) to support communication and workflow.
- Follow information governance, confidentiality requirements and data protection regulations at all times.
- Work collaboratively with the reception and administrative team.
- Report any issues or concerns promptly to the management team.
- Contribute to maintaining a calm, organised and patientfocused reception environment.
- Adapt to changes in practice processes or requirements.
- Undertake training and development as required for the role.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties relevant to the position.

- GCSE in English and Maths
- Experience in using EMIS and other clinical systems
- Experienced in using Microsoft 365
- Experience in a customer facing role
- Previous experience working in a GP practice or healthcare reception role.
- Confident use of EMIS Web, Docman, Footfall, and clinical triage/online consultation systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm, polite, and professional under pressure.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and compliance with GDPR.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience handling repeat prescriptions and workflow management.
- Knowledge of primary care processes and NHS systems.
- Previous involvement in telephone triage or front of house clinical navigation.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to cover additional hours where required.

Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Receptionist to join our team on a 6month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will provide high quality front of house and administrative support to ensure our patients receive an efficient, friendly and professional service.
The role requires proven experience using GP clinical systems, excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a busy general practice environment.
