Job Description

Perform complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functions
Verify insurance requirements, obtain and understand insurance benefits
Secure signatures and all other key information needed to complete billing and collection functions
Collect or arrange for co-insurance and/or other deposit payment amounts
Refer self-pay patients to financial counselors; answers patient questions
High school diploma or equivalent, college preferred
Medical terminology skills
Relevant medical office, hospital / physicians billing or patient registration experience preferred
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Per diem including weekdays day shift. Shift and weekend differentials apply
ORIENTATION/TRAINING IS DAYSHIFT 8A-4:30P MON-FRI FOR 2-3 WEEKS. May include time in Springfield at Mercy Medical Center depending on how far away you live
3rd week required for new hire with less than 1 year experience doing patient registration in a hospital setting
