Job Description

- Prescription Management:Processing repeat prescriptions, ensuring accuracy, and managing medication supplies.
- Medicines Reconciliation :Reconciling patient medicines after hospital discharge or care changes.
- Patient Support:Answering medication-related queries, providing advice, and supporting self-management.
- Audits & Quality:Preparing for audits, contributing to Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) targets or other projects set by the Integrated Care Board (ICB or Primary Care Network (PCN), and improving prescribing safety.
- Team Collaboration:Working with GPs, pharmacists, and admin staff to streamline workflows and improve patient care.
- Data Management:Organizing and updating patient records to maintain safe, auditable practice.

- Qualifications:NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Technician qualification (or equivalent), with GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science.
- Skills:Excellent communication, accuracy, attention to detail, IT proficiency (Microsoft Office), confidentiality, and organisational skills.
- Knowledge:Understanding of PCN structures, NHS policy, and primary care systems

Job summary
Aa a Pharmacy Technician you will manage medication systems, supporting GPs by handling repeat prescriptions, reconciling medicines post-discharge, resolving patient queries, and ensuring safe, efficient prescribing processes. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, helping meet quality targets and improving patient understanding of their medications.Where there are supply issues with medications liaising with patients and pharmacies about alternatives that are available.
