  Job Title: Pipefitter

  Job Description

  Join a dynamic plant maintenance team as a Pipefitter, responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of piping systems. You will work closely with a team of four, participating in toolbox meetings to prioritize urgent repairs and plan preventative maintenance tasks. Typically working in pairs, you will utilize tools such as calibrated torque wrenches and hydraulic torque tools to tighten flange bolts accurately, perform initial line openings, and assemble pipes according to specifications.

  Responsibilities

  • Install and assemble pipes, tubes, and fittings according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Maintain and repair piping systems to ensure they function correctly and efficiently.
  • Fabricate pipes by cutting, threading, bending, and welding to required specifications.
  • Inspect piping systems for leaks, defects, and other issues, and perform necessary repairs.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors, superintendents, and other maintenance staff.
  • Report directly to the Mechanical Lead Hand, Job Planner, Scheduler, and/or Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.

  Essential Skills

  • Troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
  • Experience in schedule planning and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pipe fitting or steam fitting experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ticketed Journeyman or Indentured 3rd or 4th year Apprentice.

  Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with pumps, piping, first breaks, double blocks, and bleeds.
  • Skills in installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical piping and vessel systems including bolt-ups and torquing.
  • Experience with stainless steel piping (non-corrosive pipe).
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to pipefitting, such as pipe cutters, welding machines, and threading machines.
  • Experience in an older plant environment is ideal.

  Work Environment

  Work in a chemical environment with shifts from 7am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. The role requires physical abilities such as squatting, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting over 50 lbs. repetitively.

  The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
