- 4% in July of 2027
- 6% Longevity Pay* after your 5th year of City employment
- 10% Longevity Pay* after your 9th year of City employment - Years of experience with another law enforcement agency counts too!
- Graduation from high school.
- Current employment with a POST agency.
- Possession of a Public Safety Dispatcher Certificate issued by POST which requires:
- Certificate of completion for a POST-certified Public Safety Dispatchers' Basic Course; and
- Successful completion of a probation period of at least 12 months as a dispatcher
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate City needs. Shift work and work on weekends and holidays is required. Incumbents are subject to overtime and callback.
- Must type accurately at a speed that will enable successful job performance.

The Position :The City of Fullerton is currently seeking experienced Police Dispatchers to fill multiple vacancies.Under general direction, transmits and receives voice messages via digital radio; inputs data into a computer-aided dispatch system (CAD); monitors and coordinates the work of law enforcement personnel engaged in general or specialized law enforcement activities and performs related work as required.Police Dispatcher is a multi-incumbent, non-sworn position in the Police Department. Incumbents are responsible for receiving a wide variety of calls requesting assistance and dispatching Police Department staff as may be appropriate while exercising a substantial degree of judgment and initiative.Requirements for Lateral Dispatcher:Process :Candidates must attach a valid POST Public Safety Dispatcher Certificate to the application. The Public Safety Dispatchers' Basic Course certificate is not the same as a POST Public Safety Dispatcher Certificate.
