      We Are Hiring Adult Monitors for the City Pools!

The City of Savannah Parks and Recreation Division is currently seeking adult monitors for our aquatic facilities. This position is responsible for working at our pools assisting and supervising the general public.

      • Act as a liaison between the general public and lifeguard staff.
      • Helps with registration of participants into the pool.
      • Monitor swimmers to provide a safe environment for everyone.
      • Implement rules and policies set forth by the aquatic manager.
      • Works closely with the Senior guard and assists with swim meet and other programs.
      • Perform other related duties as assigned.
      • Must be 21 years old.

      Additional Requirements:
      Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, and post offer/pre-employment screen.

      Work Hours : Varies
      Work Location : Various City of Savanah Pools

      • Reliable transportation required
      • Must complete First Aid, CPR and AED Training within 2 weeks of hire. The City of Savannah will provide all training classes

      Minimum Standards:

      Supervisory Controls: Pool Monitors are assigned general instruction to complete from Aquatic Manager. The manager checks work for compliance with instructions and established procedures.

      Guidelines: Guidelines include the swimming pool manual, the Department of Environmental Health Book of Codes and Rules, Guidelines for CPO, and instructions from pool maintenance personnel. These guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretation in application.

      Complexity: The work consists of supervising citizens and staff assigned to at swimming pool facilities. Performing assigned duties. Maintaining all equipment and having to supervise large numbers of participants, contributes to the complexity of the position.

      Scope and Effect: The purpose of this position is to complete administrative and general duties at our swimming pool facilities. Successful performance helps ensure the provision of a safe recreation site for citizens.

      Personal Contacts: Contacts are typically with co-workers, general public, coaches, daycare personnel, summer camp personnel, and Red Cross workers.

      Purpose of Contacts: Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, to resolve problems, to provide services, to motivate or influence persons, and to justify, defend, negotiate, or settle matters.

      Physical Demands: The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects and distinguishes between shades of color.

      Work Environment: The work is performed indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, or inclement weather. The work exposes the employee to machinery with moving parts, contagious diseases, and irritating chemicals. The work week typically runs forty to sixty hours a week.

      Supervisory and Management Responsibility: Ensuring that citizens using the swimming pool facilities are abiding by the Georgia Health Department rules posted.
