Research opportunity in the field of breast cancer detection, clinical medical imaging optimisation and perception
We are seeking to recruit for a Postdoctoral Research Associate Level A/Research Fellow Level B
Full- time, 2.5 years fixed term with a Level A base salary from $109,301- $116,679 or Level B $122,830- $132,043 plus leave loading and 17% superannuation

Located at the Susan Wakil Health Building (D18)-Medical Imaging School of Health Sciences
Engage in research either independently or as part of a research team
expertise in research methodologies, design and delivery to contribute to the University's standing as a national leader in the discipline
bring and maintain a research profile which meets University expectations and standards – including (as appropriate) publication of book chapters/ peer-reviewed journal articles, producing conference/ seminar papers – either independently or as part of a team
maintain an understanding of the University’s strategic agenda and contributes to furthering that agenda
provide training to other academic staff on research skills
engage in research evaluation and in the assessment of their own research practice
literature review report writing and ethics applications
prepare and contribute to grant applications and submissions
supervise postgraduate and honours research students
co-ordinate various administrative tasks associated with research projects.
have applied or public health cancer research background, with breast cancer being preferred
skills to design and develop image analytic applications based on project needs – will be an advantage.
Completed a Ph.D. in either applied breast cancer research, public health breast cancer research, in Clinical Medical Imaging, or a relevant discipline (health sciences, Medicine)
background in breast imaging would be preferred -other clinical medical imaging background would be considered too with a demonstrated experience in working with medical diagnostic images
demonstrated experience or knowledge in the following:
working effectively with a variety of experts in different fields (e.g., radiologists, radiographers, radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, clinicians etc) from the world’s leading academic institutions
working with MRI scanners, Digital Mammography, Digital Breast Tomosynthesis, PET, X-ray equipment, linear accelerators or other scientific/medical devices
a peer-reviewed publication track record that places emphasis on quality publications relative to the opportunity and/or experience with clinical trial protocol development
demonstrated scientific creativity and innovation/discovery
outstanding interpersonal and communication skills in a team environment.

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate /Research Fellow in applied or public health breast cancer research to help achieve the mission and vision of the BREAST Australia research team with the Sydney School of Health Sciences.
Our research group is dedicated to advancing healthcare through cutting-edge research and innovation. Our mission is to improve the accuracy and efficiency of early breast cancer detection using state-of-the-art medical imaging technologies. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Scientist to join our dynamic team and contribute to groundbreaking research in this critical field.
Note: The successful appointment on the Level of the role A OR B will be dependent on the decision of the hiring area based on skills assessment and experience criteria.
