      WSP India is currently seeking an Principal Engineer – Civil for Australia Mining Infrastructure Projects (Materials Handling Infrastructure). They shall be responsible for engineering design of civil earthworks, rail, roads, material handling transfer pads, non-process infrastructure pads, surface water management and drainage in compliance with WSP Engineering and Client Standards. Previous experience in an EPCM environment in the O & G, Power Plant, Chemical process plant, metal & Mining processing industry is an asset.

      A Team player and willing to work collaboratively with a motivated and highly successful team in Australia. The position will be for Mumbai/Bangalore/Noida location.

      Qualifications

      • 13-16 years of experience in Civil engineering with Minimum of a bachelor’s degree & preferred master’s degree in Civil engineering.

      • Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.

      • Strong attention to the detail.

      • Familiar with working in a LEAN environment.

      • Experience with projects in Australia, New Zealand would be an advantage.

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English.

      • P. ENG qualification would be an added advantage.

      BGV:

      Responsibilities

      As a Civil Engineer, you will take on a critical role to ensure we deliver the work to the highest standard while taking on the responsibilities to:

      • Provide technical expertise and guidance across various stages of the project from design through to implementation.

      • Produce design documentation, specifications, and project deliverables.

      • Apply a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles to create and deliver practical and economical solutions that meet client's requirements.

      • Produce and coordinate the production of documentation, specifications, and project deliverables within agreed project timeframes and budget for the given scope.

      • Preparing calculations and checking design drawings and models to ensure they align with applicable standards and specifications.

      • Coordinating interfaces with the client side and establishing positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

      • Preparing study and design documentation, specifications, and project deliverables.

      • Design of mining haul roads, access roads & pavement systems

      • Rail alignment & corridor earthworks design

      • Cut-fill analysis, grading design & earthwork optimisation

      • Preparation of engineering calculation sheets & design reports

      • Drainage and stormwater design for mining sites

      • Quantity estimation and BOQ inputs

      • Coordination with geotechnical, structural & mining teams

      • Ensuring compliance with Australian standards and client requirements

      Client / External focus

      • Maintain strong colleague relationships and contribute to the teams’ performance of client satisfaction.

      • Contribute to knowledge sharing in internal and external forums.

      • Remain up to date with market and competitor knowledge.

      We anticipate you will have an interest in the following areas:

      • You will also be computer literate with a reasonable proficiency in MS office suite and Navisworks.

      • Having a thirst for knowledge, cultural awareness, an open mind, and good English

      • communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work as part of a team.

      • Coordinating his/her work with other members of the Team.

      • Work competently with minimal supervision or on an individual basis.

      • The candidate must have a valid passport.

      Desired Skills

      • Strong preference will be given to candidates with Australian experience

      • Preference will be given to candidates with minimum 13-16 year of experience in a consulting

        firm in an EPCM environment in the O & G, Power, Chemical, Mining processing industry is an asset.

      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.

      • Ability to work well as part of a team or on an individual basis.
