      Job Summary

      The Product Development Centre’s (PDC ) Chakan, Pune is one of the 13 product development centre’s globally. Our Product Development Centres around the world have various kinds of test equipment, including Beverage processing, Packaging, Ice cream, Prepared foods machinery. They are staffed by experts who understand how your ingredients will respond to different processes, and who know how to make products your consumers will appreciate.

      We are looking for a Process Engineer Specialist to join our Product Development Centre (PDC) Chakan, Pune. In this role, you will work in the pilot plant where we provide trial run facilities for our customers. You will oversee operations of pre-processing, UHT, Aseptic packing and filling equipment including utilities. You will be Subject Matter Expert pertaining to UHT Processing and Packaging.

      You'll be based in Pune, India and reporting to the PDC Driver.

      What you will do

      • Oversee operations of equipments in pre-processing section, UHT processing section, aseptic packing station, cap applicator and utilities (Boiler, Chiller, CIP, Walk-in freezer etc) in pilot plant
      • Ensure compliance of ISO 45001 (OHS) and ISO 14001 (Environment) standards by undergoing internal audits and external audits by certification bodies
      • Trouble shooting and Annual maintenance of UHT pilot plant equipment
      • Regular upkeep of UHT pilot plant facility and equipment and ensure hygiene and safety standards are implemented in day-to-day operations
      • Ensure packaged product trials of internal and external customers are completed as per Tetra Pak guidelines
      • Ensure Installation, Operational and Performance qualifications are completed for new equipment installed in pilot plant
      • Ensure equipment upgrades (automation, software, hardware etc) follow Tetra Pak Standards
      • Provide technical expertise on ingredient and product processability on UHT equipment and Aseptic filling
      • Innovate and ‘think out of the box’ to deliver new solutions (related to UHT processing and Aseptic packaging) which meet customer requirements
      • Ensure best in class customer experience at each stage of customer interaction
      • Stay updated with industry advancements and best practices in UHT processing and packaging to continuously improve skills and knowledge, also recommend and implement best practices
      • Train and mentor other staff members on equipment maintenance procedures and techniques

      We believe you have

      • Graduate/Post Graduate in Mechanical/Dairy/Food Process Engineering.
      • 10-15 years of experience in food processing operations in a commercial/pilot UHT plant.
      • Knowledge of aseptic food processing (UHT) technology is must
      • Professionalism, patience, and a “Customer centric” attitude
      • Be able to work in safe and hygienic manner following GMP requirements
      • Superior verbal and written communication, problem solving, critical thinking, product documentation, and engineering skills
      • Person should be organized, detail oriented and quality driven.
      • Attention to details with good analytical skills.
