        Primary Responsibilities

        The Supervisor, Production oversees the safe and efficient packaging of food products utilizing packaging equipment or by hand. The role includes maintaining high quality standards, minimizing waste, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. This role requires you to work on the production floor and the warehouse.         Essential Functions

        DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

        • Supervises packaging operations, including associates, equipment, and processes.
        • Ensures safe, accurate, and timely packaging of food products by following regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
        • Collaborates with the Senior Manager, Facility and others to prioritize production runs.
        • Ensures all packaging materials and products are available, meet specifications, and meet quality standards.
        • Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment that meets food safety regulations.
        • Conducts quality control checks to ensure packaging meets environmental, health, and safety regulations.
        • Inspects filled containers to ensure accuracy and removes rejected products.
        • Collaborates with the Quality Assurance team, including sanitation.
        • Coordinates the movement of raw and finished products for production, storage, and shipment with warehouse associates.
        • Follows work instructions, standards, and SOPs for equipment setup and changeover.
        • Operates and troubleshoots packaging equipment in accordance with established work standards, weight, and other relevant product data.
        • Ensures accurate and timely documentation of all production, safety, and quality requirements, including box and pallet labeling.
        • Monitors packaging production standards and costs.
        • Hires, supervises, and trains associates.
        • Provides ongoing coaching and feedback to associates.
        • Maintains safeguards of confidential company information.
        • Other duties and projects as assigned.

        KILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

        • Ability to supervise others to achieve shared objectives.
        • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety and Quality Standards.
        • Experience utilizing a warehouse management system (WMS) and other similar systems.
        • Ability to use Microsoft 365 to communicate and document work.
        • Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute workload.

        Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

        EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

        • Three years’ experience in a food manufacturing and production environment.
        • Prior supervisory experience in a production environment preferred.
        • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
        • GMP certification is preferred.
        • Experience operating powered industrial trucks (PIT) preferred.

        Physical Requirements

        The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential warehouse functions of this job. Must be able to lift, move, and carry 30-40 pounds repetitively upwards of 1,000 times per day. Must be able to lift, move, and carry larger items up to 75 pounds less frequently. The Warehouse Supervisor is frequently required to stand, walk, climb and sit at times in the warehouse. While performing the duties of this position, the supervisor is subject to a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm. Freezer temperatures: (-20°F) | Refrigerator temperature (25-35°F). The supervisor is also exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise levels in the warehouse work environment are typically low to moderate.
