      As a Project Manager at DLA Piper's Data Analytics and AI Practice, you will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating projects related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) legal advice, testing, implementation, and innovation. You will collaborate closely with lawyers, technologists, and clients to ensure successful project execution and delivery. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with a passion for AI and a strong understanding of the legal industry to contribute to groundbreaking initiatives that shape the future of legal services.

      Minimum Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
      • 6 years' experience in project management, business analysis, process improvement, or operations management
      • Proven ability to synthesize and analyze information, develop actionable plans, and prepare reports to assist in making project management and project delivery-related decisions and risk assessments
      • Strong communication skills – both orally and through work products – to successfully consult, collaborate and inspire confidence and trust with the group practice teams, firm senior partners, lawyer-leaders, and practice clients.
      • Ability to partner with cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed and global environment
      • Familiarity with legal processes, regulations, and industry trends, with a passion for driving innovation and transforming the legal practice through technology
      • Outstanding organizational skills
      • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple high-level priorities in a fast-paced changing environment to successful conclusion in a timely manner
      • Demonstrated experience with Agile workflows and methodologies.
      • Proficiency in MS Office suite applications (i.e., M365, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint Teams)
      • Proficiency and working knowledge of project management software to include Azure DevOps (i.e., Monday.com, Asana, Trello, Aha!, MS Project).
      • Ability to work well as part of a team, potentially large and/or global


      Preferred Requirements:

      • Possess experience managing relationships and operations within a law firm or other professional services organization
      • Familiarity with Data Analytics processes and terminology
      • Experience with the project management information software Airtable
      • Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, SCRUM, etc.)
      • Process Improvement Certifications (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)
      • Change Management or Consulting experience


      Main Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Project Management: Lead end-to-end project management efforts for AI-focused initiatives, from initial scoping and requirements gathering to project execution, monitoring, and closure.
      • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including lawyers, technologists, and clients, to gather project requirements, establish project goals, and define deliverables.
      • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets, ensuring adherence to deadlines and client expectations.
      • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues related to project implementation, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate effectively with stakeholders to proactively address challenges.
      • Communication: Facilitate effective communication channels among project teams, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of project progress, changes, and key decisions.
      • Quality Assurance: Establish and implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of AI-driven legal solutions and technologies.
      • Change Management: Coordinate change management efforts, including training and support, to facilitate the adoption and integration of AI technologies within the legal practice.
      • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and technology enhancements to drive innovation within the AI Focused Law Practice.
      • Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to the development of best practices, knowledge sharing initiatives, and thought leadership content related to AI and legal technology in collaboration with the broader DLA Piper community.

      Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements

      In accordance with New York City, Washington, and California’s Pay Transparency Law, the pay range for this position, if hired to work in New York City, Washington, and California, is $105,000 – $125,000. The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience, and overall qualifications.
