- High school or successful completion of GED
- Three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience working in a customer service environment
- One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience working with databases and/or a computerized work or asset management system.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City’s current substance abuse policy.
- Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
- Requires the ability to understand, troubleshoot, and assist teams with the computerized systems needed to run a fleet facility.
- Ability to perform advanced computer work to include Microsoft Office, asset management database, and email.
- The incumbent is considered “essential personnel” during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
The City of Hampton is looking for a Fleet Services Support Specialist to play a key role in coordinating a wide range of customer service, billing, and administrative support functions for the Fleet Services Department. This position serves as a primary point of contact for customers and vendors, delivering information in a professional, customer-friendly manner while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established procedures. The role supports fleet billing processes, maintains and updates internal databases, and assists with administrative functions related to equipment maintenance and repair. Working closely with the Fleet Services Operations Manager, this position also helps plan and coordinate maintenance and repair activities to ensure efficient operations and adherence to service timelines.
