  Job Title: Pulp OperatorJob Description

  We are seeking motivated individuals for 8 openings as Pulp Operators in Vonore, TN. This is a temporary-to-permanent position offering 4 spots on the day shift and 4 on the night shift, operating on a 2,2,3 schedule. The shifts are from 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am. As a Pulp Operator, you will be responsible for feeding bales of grass into the conveyor to load into the pulp tanks, monitoring water chemistry, chemicals, pressure, and temperature, and ensuring the process runs smoothly. Additionally, you will take the finished product from the pulp tank and place it onto the spreader and forming machine. All duties require the use of checklists to adhere to safety, recipes, processes, and formulations.

  Responsibilities

  • Operate telehandlers to feed bales of grass into the conveyor.
  • Monitor and adjust water chemistry, chemicals, pressure, and temperature in pulp tanks.
  • Transfer finished products from pulp tanks to spreaders and forming machines.
  • Utilize checklists to ensure safety and adherence to recipes and processes.
  • Work collaboratively within a team and follow safety procedures closely.
  • Focus on quality and attention to detail.

  Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Entry-level role suitable for individuals with maintenance background or aspirations.
  • Education from TCAT or local trade school focused on maintenance, electrical, boilers, etc.
  • Ability to follow step-by-step instructions for recipes, protocols, and safety.

  Work Environment

  Work in a plant/production environment that can be hot and cold. The mixture of water and grass with pulp may be unpleasant at times. The facility contains various machines such as tanks, boilers, conveyors, and thermoforming machines.

  This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vonore, TN.

  Pay and Benefits

  The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
