      Job summary

      To receive and welcome patients to the Department, and direct them to the appropriate waiting area after the patient has booked in via the electronic system.

      Be polite and courteous when dealing with patients at all times.

      1. Ensure effective communication with all members of the Pain Management team.

      2. Ensure that all administration processes are dealt with in accordance to Trust and MOD Waiting list policies.

      3. Required to cover for other colleagues during annual leave/sickness or peak workloads.

      4. To receive and co-ordinate patients telephone queries with the appropriate member of nursing/ medical staff. This is vital as the unit has daily telephone queries from patients on systemic drugs etc.

      ***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

      Main duties of the job

      Compile and sort clinic attendance sheets.

      Ensure the patients details are up to date on both the computer system and the patients notes.

      Make follow-up appointments according to consultant requirements and clinic booking rules.

      Record patient outcome onto IPM system.

      Ensure ALL case notes are available for the clinic.

      Carry all patients notes from reception to the clinical area during all clinics.
