      Agency Description:

      Dolores Street Community Services nurtures individual wellness and cultivates collective power among low-income and immigrant communities to create a more just society.

      Our programs include the Dolores Shelter Program, Richard M. Cohen Residence, Valencia Community Center, Mission SRO Collaborative, SF Immigrant Legal & Education Network, Deportation Defense and Legal Advocacy, African Advocacy Network, Casa Quezada, and The San Francisco Day Labor Program & Women's Collective.

      Basic Function

      Responsible for relaying incoming calls/visitors, providing general information/assistance to clients, management of office/building maintenance, and performing assorted clerical duties.


      Responsibilities:

      Front Office Reception

      • Open/close main office daily
      • Answer/transfer phone calls, refer drop-ins to appropriate staff
      • Receive, sort and distribute mail/deliveries
      • Provide basic information and referrals to other agencies when client's needs fall outside of our services
      • Accept donations and assist donors in completing in-kind donation forms

      Valencia Community Center

      • Keep track of reservations/schedules of groups using the center
      • Communicate with group contacts about problems or concerns
      • Track monthly rental donations for use of space

      Technology/Equipment

      • Communicate and coordinate with vendors around phone/internet/network problems and updates
      • Provide basic maintenance, and order supplies for copy machine, fax, and postage machine
      • Maintain inventory of equipment and coordinate loaning of equipment both within and outside of agency

      Accounting Support

      • Keep track of credit card expenses reports
      • Bank deposit

      Program Support

      • Assist with timecards entry
      • Provide Admin support to Director of Housing

      General Office Duties

      • Coordinate the ordering of office and facility supplies and maintain supply shelves/storage room
      • Provide general assistance to the Executive Director and Director of Administration and Fund Development
      • Assist staff members with routine filing and special projects
      • Other duties as assigned

      Skills and experience

      • Bilingual Spanish/English, spoken and written
      • Organized, detail-oriented
      • Ability to interact with an ethnically and economically diverse population
      • Basic computer knowledge, ability to use Windows and Microsoft Office
      • Knowledge of or ability to be trained on database software

      Education/Training

      • Prior general office experience preferred
      • BA degree preferred
