Position: Ice Center Facility Assistant (Hobbs Ice Arena)
Hours/Week: up to 30 hours/week
Days Required: May-August, hours vary depending on facility schedule
Salary: $16.50/hour

Description: The ideal candidate is a mature adult with a strong work ethic and the ability to communicate well with patrons, co-workers, and supervisors. Duties include: ice resurfacing, ice maintenance, building maintenance, monitoring/recording of mechanical equipment, supervision of staff and patrons, and event set-up and tear down. Ice maintenance experience is not necessary. Ice maintenance and resurfacing training will be provided. Seasonal based with potential for year-round employment. Skating/hockey experience preferred but not required. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license and submit proof of insurance.
Position: Adult Sport Facility Attendant (Adult Leagues) (FILLED)

Description: The Adult Sports Facility Attendant is responsible for providing on-site evening supervision for adult athletic programs, including Ultimate Frisbee, Soccer, and Slowpitch Softball. Duties include setting up and dismantling playing fields, monitoring program activities, and ensuring smooth nightly operations across multiple locations. Access to a personal vehicle and proof of insurance are required. Previous experience in sports organization is preferred. Strong community relations skills and effective communication with adult participants are highly desirable. This seasonal position runs from April through October. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license and submit proof of insurance.

Description: The Concessions/Admissions Lead serves as an on-site working supervisor at Carson Park Football Stadium. The ideal candidate is a mature, dependable individual with strong organizational skills. Prior leadership and/or cash-handling experience are preferred.

Description: The Soccer Program Planner is responsible for coordinating and overseeing a youth soccer program serving approximately 800 participants and 75 volunteer coaches. This position works closely with the Recreation Program Supervisor to recruit, train, and support volunteer coaches, organize teams, and schedule practices and games. Additional responsibilities include managing equipment and inventory, completing administrative reports, supervising officials, and ensuring smooth day-to-day program operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, with prior experience directing athletic programs and knowledge of soccer preferred. Candidates must be available from mid-May through mid-August. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license and submit proof of insurance.
Position: Specialized Recreation Activity Leaders (FILLED)

Description: Applicants must be available from June 1 through August 5. This position assists with the delivery of an afternoon specialized education program for school-aged youth ages 6–21 with disabilities, as well as an evening social club for adults. The youth program operates Monday through Thursday afternoons, and the adult evening program meets on Wednesdays. Candidates are preferred to have one to two years of experience working with children and/or adults with disabilities; leadership experience is beneficial. Responsibilities include leading structured activities such as art projects, field trips, fishing excursions, and similar events. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong behavior management skills, including the ability to resolve conflicts and effectively calm participants as needed. First Aid, CPR, and AED certification are recommended.

Description: The Youth Volleyball and Basketball Instructor is responsible for teaching fundamental volleyball and basketball skills to youth participants through structured, age-appropriate activities. This position emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and safety while creating a positive and supportive learning environment. Responsibilities include planning and leading instructional sessions, teaching basic rules and game strategies, facilitating drills and scrimmages, and ensuring proper use of equipment. Candidates should be responsible, enthusiastic, and reliable. Previous experience instructing or playing volleyball and/or basketball is preferred. The ability to work well with children and promote inclusive, positive participation is essential.

Position: Fairfax Pool Facility Specialist (1 position)

Description: Responsible for on-site operation of the Fairfax Park Municipal Pool. Coordinates pool operations and records maintenance and safety issues. Qualifications should include experience supervising employees and several years’ experience as a lifeguard. Current certification requirements include the American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED. Certification preferred: Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI). Description: The primary responsibility as a lifeguard is to prevent drowning and other injuries from occurring. Lifeguards must be able to ensure the safety of patrons during all Eau Claire Parks, Recreation, and Foresty Aquatic Programs. A lifeguard must be able to enforce pool policies and be able to communicate effectively why policies are in place. A lifeguard must actively guard and always scan the pool areas. A lifeguard must recognize and respond effectively in emergency situations by activating Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and following the American Red Cross Lifeguard Standards. Completion and accuracy of forms require including accident, incident and safety check forms. Lifeguard applicants are required to have the current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification by start date

Swim Instructors must evaluate participants’ swimming abilities in accordance with the American Red Cross guidelines. Swim Instructors will create block plans, lesson plans, and complete all necessary documentation. Swim Instructors will ensure that all safety standards are being met and enforce facility rules. Swim Instructors will provide good customer service and have strong communication skills with students, parents, and fellow staff.
