- Prepare snack bar foods and beverages from specified menu for customers.
- Serve food and beverages to snack bar customers.
- Check identification of customers for alcohol purchases.
- Clean and restock foods, beverages, condiments, and other supplies.
- Prepare supply requisitions and order from vendor. o Change beverage boxes.
- Clean and maintain snack bar equipment. Report concerns the supervisor.
- Calculate customer food and beverage charges, collect money, and provide change.
- Pick-up bank and have it verified at front desk at beginning of shift.
- Count bank at front desk, have verified and place money in safe, at end of shift.
- Perform other related duties as requested by supervisor.
- Perform monthly inventory with supervisor.
High School Diploma or equivalent
A valid Food Handlers Card issued by San Bernardino County
Good oral communication skills and excellent customer service skills
Ability to perform basic math calculations and handle cash accurately
Ability to operate a cash register
Computer keyboard proficiency and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems
Good organizational and time management skills
Demonstrated patience and courtesy when interacting with customers
Ability to use sound judgment when working independently
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and courteous demeanor
San Bernardino County Regional Parks is seeking customer-focused Snack Bar Attendants* to provide food and beverage services to park guests at Glen Helen Regional Park. This position plays an important role in creating a positive visitor experience by delivering friendly service, maintaining a clean and safe snack bar environment, and accurately handling cash and point-of-sale transactions.
The Snack Bar Attendant works under frequent supervision and follows established departmental procedures. This position regularly collaborates with other food and beverage staff, golf course staff, and supervisors, and interacts continuously with park guests while providing snack food and beverage services. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Job Duties:
*Office Title: Public Service EmployeePublic Service Employees are extra help , non-regular, limited duration positions classified as a Public Service Employee (PSE) . The successful candidate shall be considered at-will throughout the term of their employment, and will not attain regular status.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Availability: Must be available to work varied schedules, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Positions are part-time (0-30 hours/week). Assignments and schedules are made based on the needs of the Regional Parks Department. Indicate your preferred availability on the supplemental questionnaire of the application.Certification: A valid Food Handlers Card issued by San Bernardino County issued by San Bernardino County is required at the time of hire . Reimbursement for new Food Handlers Card or recertification may be approved by the department upon completion of eighty (80) hours of paid work time.
Public Service Employee: These are extra help , non-regular positions classified as a Public Service Employee (PSE). The successful candidate shall be considered at-will throughout the term of their employment, and will not attain regular status. This position will participate in the County's Deferred Compensation Plan and is not eligible for benefits through San Bernardino County.
Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must undergo a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting and a pre-employment physical.
Physical: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, communicate effectively, and use hands and fingers continuously. Frequent physical activities include balancing, twisting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Employees must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds, and possess sufficient close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, typically in a snack bar booth. Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, humidity, and wet conditions. Moderate to loud noise levels are common in this work environment.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider to candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.Must be a least eighteen (18) years of age
Experience: Six (6) months of full time equivalent experience in a food service, concession, or customer service environment involving cash handling.
