Job summary
Challenging but exciting opportunity for a Band 5
An exciting opportunity has presented itself for a permanent Band 5 Registered Nurse to work on the Discharge Waiting Area.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining patient flow across the Trust by facilitating smooth and efficient patient discharge.
Working with the team, the post holder will ensure safe and timely transfer of discharges to the unit and more importantly, a positive patient experience through the delivery of high standard of patient care.
You will be supported by the Ward Manager, and will work closely with DWA Sister and the patient Flow Team
The Discharge Waiting Area is open 24/7.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a proactive and compassionate nurse to join our Discharge Waiting Area team.
You will play a key role in ensuring a safe, efficient and well-coordinated discharge process.
You will work closely with healthcare team to coordinate timely discharges, complete necessary documentation and educating patients and families about medications and follow up care.
Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills are essential to ensure efficient patient flow.
