- Reporting to the Director of Surgical Services/Operations Coordinator/Shift Manager/Designee, the
- Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations.
- Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
- The RN is responsible for monitoring the patient’s physiological status in the immediate operative period.
- Communicates with the surgeon and anesthesiologist about patient conditions and receives direction for patient management.
- Intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis.
- Current California RN license
- Current BLS
- ACLS within nine months (within one year for new graduates)
- PALS within one year
- TCAR required within 12 months of hire/transfer .
- For current employees within the department, TCAR must be obtained by October 1, 2019.
- Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking
- Lift/position up to 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 50 lbs of force.
- Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
- Manual dexterity and mobility
- Ability to move quickly
- Regularly exposed to the risk of contagious and blood borne diseases
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
- Exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness) and emergency and crisis situations
- Subject to irregular hours
- Occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances and biohazard material
