What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct data mining using advanced methods and enhance data collection procedures
- Select features, build, and optimize classifiers using machine learning techniques
- Perform statistical analyses and present results clearly and concisely
- Collaborate with team members and write scientific manuscripts for publication
- Troubleshoot independently and lead multiple research projects from inception to completion
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Biostatistics, or related field and four years of relevant experience
- Excellent scripting and programming skills including Java, SQL, Python, and Linux
- Proficiency with machine learning techniques and data science toolkits, such as R and NumPy
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with experience presenting data
- Ability to comply with ethical research regulations and work collaboratively in a team environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- PhD in a related field, with at least four years of work experience or five years in Biostatistics or Epidemiology
- Experience with Big Data analyses and deep learning methods such as CNNs
- Familiarity with Linux system administration and knowledge of security standards
- Strong organizational abilities and experience leading research projects
