      Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have launched a monitoring system that revolutionises how people with diabetes around the world monitor their glucose levels. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people’s lives.

      To support our continued site expansion, we currently have an opportunity within the R&D team for a Scientist to join us. This team provide product R&D support for test method development and material characterisation. This position is at the heart of the UK R&D team and your input will be instrumental in the introduction and characterisation of materials associated with sensor development projects. This role will also require you to provide materials support for on-market products, such as supplier changes, as required.

      You should be excited about working in a fast-paced environment within a hard-working and welcoming team. You will be keen to develop your technical expertise to accomplish goals, report experiments, analyse data, evaluate results and make conclusions or recommendations, and use your technical writing skills to produce analytical test procedures, technical reports and other documents.

      To be successful, you will ideally be degree qualified in a scientific discipline and have additional experience with material characterisation.

      The ideal candidates will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a team. You will need to have good communication, analytical and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment. There will be regular opportunities to collaborate with R&D, quality, operations and engineering functions.
