What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Monitor security channels for potential security events and triage security alerts
- Escalate validated incidents to senior SOC personnel or the Cyber Incident Response team
- Log, track, and maintain detailed case notes for all investigations
- Leverage knowledge of Google Cloud Platform to triage cloud-related events
- Mentor and assist in training junior SOC team members
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a SOC Analyst or in a comparable security operations role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and infrastructure devices
- Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM, EDR, and email/phishing protection platforms
- Solid knowledge of cybersecurity concepts including DLP, IDS/IPS, and firewalls
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Industry certifications such as Security+, Network+, GCIH, or similar
- Experience using AI/ML tools to improve productivity through automation or agent-based approaches
