      Job Description

      what is the opportunity?

      You will provide consistent levels of organizational and technical expertise necessary for the successful implementation, maintenance and support of the critical network and security infrastructure services across all global RBC Intranet and Extranet environments. Provide advanced level technical expertise for troubleshooting, and implementing configuration changes across multiple firewall and VPN platforms. You will be regularly working with business partners, escalation teams (implementation/engineering), and vendors to resolve incidents/problems, and deliver infrastructure changes across the global RBC Enterprise.

      What will you do?

      • Responsible for the successful delivery of the firewall rule attestation and accreditation process globally.
      • Responsible for risk assessment of firewall rules across multiple firewall platforms globally.
      • Work closely with DevOps/ Automation teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and automation, provide technical requirements and validate functionality before production implementation.
      • Develops, codes, documents and executes programs of low to intermediate complexity.
      • Provides input into high level and detailed technical specifications for medium to large projects.
      • Contributes to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.

      What do you need to succeed?

      Must Have

      • Certification in at least one of the firewall platforms and intermediate working experience with the following network and Security appliances/vendors: Firewalls (Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet),
      • Advanced understanding & working knowledge of firewalls, intrusion & malware prevention technologies, internet proxy, gateways and network security technology and how they integrate to deliver services.
      • Strong understanding of security exposures and mitigating designs, including intermediate experience with the use of Firewall Management platform Algosec.
      • Good understanding Knowledge of security concepts such as NAT/PAT, IPSEC, SSL, DDoS, IP Spoofing etc.
      • University or College Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent 3+ years of experience as a Technical Analyst
      • Certifications like CISSP

      Nice-to-have:

      • Working knowledge of Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP and Azure)
      • CISA, CRISC, CCSP are considered assets.
