      What is the opportunity?

      RBC’s Personal Banking Value Office (VO) department is seeking a highly motivated and talented Manager. The department consists of a group of diverse and skilled professionals who play an integral role in the execution of strategic initiatives across multiple lines of business.

      The Manager, Special Projects & Integration will be responsible for executing on strategic initiatives, acting as an internal consultant. Successful candidates will be able to apply core consulting skills to business situations (e.g., problem solving, data analysis & modelling, slide writing, stakeholder management, etc.) and become a trusted advisor for business partners.

      What will you do?

      • Conduct research, perform quantitative and qualitative analyses, provide data-driven recommendations and derive business insights (the "so what")

      • Drive problem-solving (i.e., formulate hypotheses, problem tress, etc.) collaborating with subject matter experts to gather relevant data & facts

      • Prepare senior management materials (power point presentations). Synthesize key messages with crisp and rigorous logic; adapt written and verbal communication to different types of audiences

      • Organize project work, applying sound logic to prioritize, track progress of tasks through a rigorous organization and identify execution risks

      • Foster effective communication and collaboration among different departments and teams within the organization

      • Prepare periodic reports for senior executives and risk partners by gathering data from business leaders, drafting and organizing content, reviewing for accuracy (i.e., pressure-testing), and finalizing materials

      What do you need to succeed?

      Must have:

      • Bachelor’s degree in business or finance with an emphasis in Strategy

      • 2+ years of experience in a financial institution or management consulting firm, with proven experience working in complex strategic projects

      • Strong critical thinking along with the ability to analyze situations and translate them into insights to make informed decisions

      • Demonstrated expertise in problem solving effectively in ambiguous situations (Consulting Case Interview may be required)

      • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely, coupled with active and deep listening (Proficiency in timed case analysis and slide writing may be required)

      • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships at every level of the organization

      Nice to have:

      • Working knowledge of Data Analytic tools is a plus (Tableau, Alteryx)
