What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct and contribute to innovative research applying AI technologies to enhance the operation and security of the electrical grid
- Develop solutions for forecasting, anomaly detection, and decision support tools for grid operators
- Serve as the principal investigator on multi-disciplinary research projects, managing deliverables and overseeing execution
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, providing expertise in grid operations to AI researchers
- Mentor and coach staff in AI and grid research, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
What is Required (Qualifications):
- BS/BA and 7+ years of relevant work experience, or MS/MA and 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a national security clearance, Q/SCI
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Background Investigation will be conducted for selected applicants
- Ability to demonstrate non-use of illegal drugs for 12 consecutive months prior to employment

- Experience applying machine learning and agentic approaches to the grid domain
- Familiarity with integrating AI models into operational workflows for electric utilities
- Strong communication and technical writing skills for diverse audiences
- Established professional network within AI, ML, or the energy industry
