- Work as a hands-on developer to execute and deploy projects aimed at solving high-impact business problems.
- Play a central role in all stages of the building, deployment, and further improvement of new products to our clients, including:
- Using data science and software engineering skills to solve business problems for our end-users
- Partnering with business leaders, domain experts, and end-users to gain business understanding, data understanding, and collect requirements
- Data analysis and preparation
- Partnering with financial engineers and model developers to understand specifications for building and deploying models/algorithms into production systems
- Architect a solution that is scalable and resource-efficient
- Produce system documents
- Improve existing code bases by using efficient, re-usable and modular coding practices (aka functional programming)
- 5+ years of Software engineering experience primarily with Java
- Overall advanced skills in Java and Python
- Proficient knowledge of AWS, Spark, Microservices, Spring Boot, and No-SQL data stores such as Cassandra
- Typically requires a Bachelor's/Master’s degree or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering
- A prior experience in the Economics/Financial industry is a good to have
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have strong analytical skills and learning agility
- Have the ability to work in a collaborative work environment
- Experience with data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, data visualization, R programming
The Role: Senior Developer - Analytics Engineering
The Location: US virtual or hybrid; CST/EST hours required

The Team:
The team is responsible for the delivery, deployment, and further ownership of Analytics products. These products are specific, in that they are leveraging emerging tools and technologies, such as data-science-oriented languages, alternative data, and cognitive technologies. This team partners with a team of individuals who provide thought leadership and designs those products. We collaborate closely with them and build and deploy solutions following the software development lifecycle. Thereafter, the ownership and the responsibility of maintaining and enhancing the solution lies within our team.
Our workflow is software development, with a keen application in the space of data science, data mining, and cognitive technologies. These are prerequisites for a successful engagement in our team’s risk management applications.
The team setting gives ample opportunities to take on complex software engineering and analytical problems. At the same time, you will be able to seek support from colleagues with a deep proficiency in the technologies leveraged. Partnering closely with other internal stakeholders will also allow you to tap into their experience and resources.
We succeed through leveraging unique research, big data, and great teamwork in solving a wide range of customer challenges.
The Impact:
In this role you will use cutting edge techniques in domain languages to handle both traditional and alternative data sets. The supported business applications include traditional credit modeling, as well as state-of-the-art methods for alternative data mining and transformation.

You will be making meaningful contributions in building solutions delivered through the Webservices/API/Data Processing. The work you do will provide the data and analytics required for crucial, daily decisions in the financial markets, and in corporate finance operations.

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,800 - $139,700. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
