Assists in research, analyzes data and prepares reports. Develops and administers surveys for customers and the public.
Utilizes analyses to make recommendations for service and various projects/studies throughout the District.
In the absence of supervisor, represents the organization regarding transit service and requests for service changes with public agencies, transportation management organizations and civic organizations. Conducts public meetings on service-related issues.
Assists in producing computerized run cuts for Rail Operator votes.
Reviews and develops long- and intermediate-range rail operation plans and major service changes.
Formulates draft and final operating rail schedules for new or modified transit service and develops costs of new or modified service. Ensures schedules are cost efficient, comply with appropriate service standards, and utilize appropriate interlining and other cost containment methods.
Reviews operating rail schedules for special service and ensures efficient interlining and utilization of resources.
Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor degree in planning, transportation, engineering or related field.
A minimum of one year of experience in transportation planning related to transit service planning and scheduling, which could include transportation operations and logistics, long-and-intermediate range urban and regional planning, customer service and public/community involvement, transportation project coordination, etc.
A minimum of six months of experience in run cutting techniques, including proficiency in computerized run cutting methods.
A minimum of six months of experience in manual and computerized schedule making techniques.
Possess a valid driver's license continually for the past two years. No DUI, DWI, or reckless driving in the past two years.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Prior Rail scheduling experience is preferred.
Ability to read and understand maps.
Ability to analyze data and solve problems of a moderate-level of complexity.
Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written means.
Ability to use sound judgment.
Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include working some evenings and weekends as required.
The work environment is a typical office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.

Pay Range:
