      Join Our Team in Kuching as a Site Supervisor

      Are you ready to take the lead in a role that blends operational excellence with safety leadership? We’re looking for a Site Supervisor to join our team in Kuching, where you’ll play a key role in managing Orica’s on-site operations, including teams, plant, and equipment.
      In this dynamic position, you will:

      • Lead and inspire on-site teams to deliver high-quality blasting services.
      • Ensure full compliance with service level agreements, corporate policies, and regulatory standards.
      • Champion safety by implementing Orica’s SHES (Safety, Health, Environment & Security) requirements.
      • Drive innovation through the full adoption of CHECKPOINT and continuous improvement of our Quality programs.

      What you will be doing

      • Operational & Financial Support
        Provide analytical and decision-making support to the Area Manager, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing operational costs and enhancing site efficiency.
      • Strategic Site Planning
        Actively participate in short-, medium-, and long-term planning for site operations, including budgeting, capital expenditures, staffing, and resource modeling.
      • Compliance & Safety Leadership
        Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure site operations meet regulatory standards and company safety policies. Lead monthly safety meetings and complete the annual Letter of Assurance, ensuring all assigned actions are tracked and closed.
      • Inventory & Profitability Management
        Perform mandatory monthly inventory counts and reconciliations. Analyze stock levels to optimize inventory, reduce waste, and improve site profitability through effective stock rotation.
      • Training & Team Development
        Oversee employee training plans, ensuring all mandatory training is completed and documented. Motivate and supervise team members to reach their full potential while maintaining high safety and service standards.
      • Operational Execution & Scheduling
        Manage daily employee schedules to meet customer requirements. Ensure smooth site operations including raw material ordering, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping.
      • Customer & Regulatory Engagement
        Maintain strong relationships with customers by identifying opportunities to improve service delivery. Manage external audits and inspections, implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction.

      What you will bring

      • Engineering Degree preferably, Mechanical, with strong mechanical aptitude, especially in truck and pump maintenance-this is essential.
      • Minimum 5 years in maintenance operations, with a proven ability to perform under pressure in demanding site environments.
      • Maintenance-driven mindset, with hands-on experience in equipment upkeep and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance.
      • Team leadership experience (5+ years), with a focus on motivating and developing staff
      • Strong understanding of SHES standards and regulatory compliance, including federal and local site requirements.
      • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within multi-cultural teams, with a clear aptitude for the mining and blasting industry.
